WTP access update and virtual events coming up soon

We know for everyone that 2020 has been like no other year we’ve ever experienced!

Since our last update in May 2020, Melbourne Water has remained focused on limiting the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19). This has meant that the Western Treatment Plant (WTP) has been closed to visitors and will continue to be closed to visitors until it is deemed safe to open.

We will assess this decision as restrictions ease and advise you of any changes as they come to hand so you can get back to enjoying this wonderful site as soon as it is safe to do so.

In the meantime, we have a number of virtual experiences so you can continue to visit and learn about the site:

Attend a WTP National Water Week event

As part of National Water Week celebrations (19-25 October 2020) we are running two live Zoom webinars about WTP

These events are FREE. Click on the links below to find out how to register or to view the live stream.

Step through a virtual doorway into WTP

If you can't make one of the events above, you can discover WTP through our guided and self-guided virtual experiences from the comfort of your desk, home or classroom.
