We're committed to enhancing life and liveability in Sunshine by working with the community and project partners to transform a section of Stony Creek at Sunshine Hospital into a fun and friendly open space.
The Reimagining Stony Creek at Sunshine Hospital project extends from Laurel Street to Furlong Road, St Albans. This is our fourth project site in the Reimagining your Creek program.
We want your help to transform this section of the creek to create a desirable open space that provides connections to the hospital and is a place where people can interact with nature and each other.
To help us reimagine this one kilometre section of Stony Creek we asked you to share your ideas, suggestions and priorities. We did this because we wanted to understand what’s important to you and how the area could be improved to meet your needs and aspirations.
Thanks to everyone who came to see us at our community events and those who shared ideas and information online. We heard from more than 500 people and captured a wide range of views and opinions. There were many common themes and suggestions too! The Community Engagement Report is now available.
We expect to have our initial designs online by the end of 2019.

Now that we have captured the community’s priorities and preferences for Reimagining Stony Creek at Sunshine Hospital, we can progress designs for the section from above Laurel Street to Furlong Road St Albans. We expect to share these designs online in December 2019.
Our redesign of Stony Creek at Sunshine Hospital is linked to the Sunshine Health, Wellbeing and Education Precinct masterplan. This plan is being developed by the Victorian Planning Authority in collaboration with Brimbank City Council and Western Health. Construction at Stony Creek is likely to commence in 2021.
