Works complete - Arnolds Creek reimagined
The Reimagining Arnolds Creek project has turned what was a bland, concrete lined channel into a desirable open space where people can interact with nature. The 1.4km section of Arnolds Creek that has been redesigned extends from Bulmans Road in the west and from Cambrian Way to High Street, Melton West.
Urban landscaping works are now complete and we'd like to thank the community and project partners for their contribution to the design of this new public space to ensure it’s a space everyone can be proud of. We also want to thank the community, particularly local residents, for their patience during construction.
What was involved
Based on your ideas, some major changes were made to the area (see pictures below) including:
- the creation of the central zone with shelter and education areas, tables and seating
- footpaths and walkways throughout the creek
- the removal of the above ground concrete channel and Cambrian Way concrete drain
- increased plants and greenery - over 200,000 native plants were reintroduced to the area as well as being able to retain sections of existing native vegetation
