The Lower Werribee River Recreation Plan is here
We are pleased to be able to share with you the release of the Lower Werribee River Recreation Plan.
Thanks to everyone who took the time to provide feedback and make suggestions for what you wanted to see along this stretch of the Werribee River.
The input you provided helped to identify the following priorities for supporting recreation along the lower Werribee River:
- Creating continuous shared path linkages that connect destinations along the river and provide opportunities for exercise, connecting with nature, environmental education and active transport.
- Formalising access points for informal fishing and bird watching.
- Improving access and infrastructure for paddling sports.
- Provide a network of supporting infrastructure to support recreation activities such as shelter, seating, bins and toilets.
Thanks also to all our stakeholders who participated in workshops and interviews to help develop the direction for the plan. We will continue to work with stakeholders as we implement the plan over the coming years.
Thanks again from the Lower Werribee Recreation Plan team
